Bagi para penggemar fotografi pemula atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan new entry, dunia fotografi mungkin merupakan suatu dunia baru yang cukup rumit. Kerumitan dalam dunia fotografi dimulai dari berbagai istilah yang tidak mengerti orang awam sampai dengan aturan-aturan komposisi. Dalam postingan kami kali ini, kami mencoba memberi tutorial sederhana tentang dasar pemahaman kamera dan teknik dasar fotografi untuk membantu para fotografer pemula yang baru mencoba dunia cahaya ini.
Kamera SLR/DSLR?
Kamera SLR ( Single Lens Reflex ) atau D-SLR ( Digital ) merupakan kamera dengan jendela bidik ( viewfinder ) yang memberikan gambar sesuai dengan sudut pandang lensa melalui pantulan cermin yang terletak di belakang lensa. Pada umumnya kamera biasa memiliki tampilan dari jendela bidik yang berbeda dengan sudut pandang lensa karena jendela bidik tidak berada segaris dengan sudut pandang lensa.
Seperti dibahas terdahulu, fotgrafi berkaitan erat dengan cahaya, maka kamera berfungsi untuk mengatur cahaya yang ditangkap image sensor ( sensor gambar pada kamera digital atau film pada kamera konvensional ). Untuk mengatur cahaya, terdapat 2 hal mendasar dalam kamera, yakni Shutter Speed ( Kecepatan Rana ) dan Aperture ( Diafragma ).

Bokeh dapat diartikan sebagai ruang tajam yang ada dalam foto. Yang saya maksud dengan ruang tajam dapat anda lihat dari foto dibawah ini.

Bahasa resmi (ilmiah mungkin) bokeh adala DOF (Deep Of Field).
menurut wikipedia :
depth of field (DOF) is the portion of a scene that appears acceptably sharp in the image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on each side of the focused distance, so that within the DOF, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions.
Artinya :
kedalaman ruang (DOF) adalah bagian dari sebuah gambar yang muncul secara tajam dalam gambar. Meskipun lensa hanya bisa fokus pada satu jarak tertentu, penurunan ketajaman terjadi secara bertahap di setiap sisi jarak fokus, sehingga dalam DOF, ketidaktajaman tidak terlihat dalam kondisi tampilan normal.
Bagaimana cara menghasilkan Foto dengan DOF? pada kamera poket tertentu dapat menghasilkan gambar dengan DOF (namun sekarang hampir semua kamera poket memiliki fasilitas ini, bahkan kamera HP/smartphone juga bisa) dan semua SLR/DSLR. Pada kamera poket cukup menggunakan mode makro maka otomatis kamera akan mendeteksi fokus pada gambar kita. sedangkan pada kamera DSLR/SLR dengan cara merubah Diafragma lensa ke ukuran paling besar (angka paling kecil, lubang diafragma memiliki ukuran yang berbanding terbalik, semakin kecil angkanya, semakin lebar diafragmanya).
